Chile’s most internationally renowned and productive wine region, the Central Valley. Located in close proximity to the countries capital Santiago. Directly across from the Andes’ and neighbouring Argentina’s heavy hitting Mendoza region. Within the Central valley there are four sub-regions; Maipo Valley, Rapel Valley, the Curico Valley and the Maule Valley. The region is home to a wide variety of wine styles and qualities; fashionable older Bordeaux styles through to newer cool-climate areas receiving great attention in the current surge to find new world wines. Planting here are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah’s. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc’s. Don’t forget too Chile’s iconic Carmenere, a red variety of great importance here.
