Just to the east of Paris is the region of Champagne. Needing very little introduction for its blends of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier the only three varieties that make up that well enjoyed fizz Champagne. This main region is sub divided into smaller sub-regions; Montagne de Reims in the south preferring a Pinot Noir dominated blend. Cotes des Blancs bellow Epernay in the south is a region where fantastic Chardonnays dominate. Vallee de la Marne sits to the south of the Aude region, and both enjoy a warmer climate where the Pinot Meunier flourish’s and takes centre stage. Within the final blends of Champagne as many as 50 individual wines can be expertly blended, from many different vintages too.
